Having handled my fair share of these over the years, I can tell you the retay G19 lands as a loose replica of the GLOCK 19, which at its core is really a GLOCK 19 Gen 3 dressed up with an integral parallel port compensator. Whether that compensator does much with blank cartridges is debatable given the low pressure they generate, but the visual appeal is undeniable.

The build pairs a polymer frame with a metal slide, steel barrel, and receiver, and the result is genuinely lightweight compared to replicas of vintage firearms. Where the grip is concerned, you get checkering running down the handle sides in a small square type laid out in a tilted formation, plus three finger grooves moulded into the front of the handle and centrifugal square texturing that hugs the handle curvature for proper traction.

There’s an ambidextrous finger rest for your thumb and index finger that noticeably sharpens shooting ergonomy, while the magazine release sits as a tilted square with vertical serrations for grip and anti-forward slippage. One thing I always warn people about: this pistol is dimensionally dissimilar to a true GLOCK 19, so don’t expect it to slot into a hardshell holster built for one.

How Retay glock 19 works step-by-step:

They fire blank cartridges — rounds with primer and gunpowder but no projectile (bullet). A crimp or wad seals the front instead.

The trigger releases a firing pin/hammer that strikes the primer, igniting the powder just like a real firearm.

Expanding gas builds pressure in the chamber, producing the loud bang, muzzle flash, and smoke — but with nothing to push down a barrel.

The gas cycles the action (in blowback designs), pushing the slide back to eject the spent case and chamber the next round.

Most have a blocked or restricted barrel — often vented at the top or partially obstructed — so a real projectile can’t be fired and gas escapes upward/forward. 

No bullet, no rifling needed — the energy goes into noise and gas rather than launching a round downrange. 

On the firing side, the double blade trigger type mimics the GLOCK Safe Action ® found on a genuine GLOCK firearm, meaning you have to depress both trigger blades to discharge or decock it; it cannot be toggled at an angle, so your trigger finger has to commit and enter the trigger guard before you can discharge the gun. Like most blank guns and firearms, there’s no conventional safety here, which is exactly why I urge caution against carrying it with a round chambered.

The G19 isn’t a striker fired pistol in the real sense — it runs on an internal hammer that gets cocked by racking the slide. I’ll be honest with you, I can’t promise the gun won’t go off if dropped with a round in the chamber, and I’ve come across units where the double blade trigger safety simply didn’t behave as it should on this pistol, so treat the trigger with respect.
